The attached is an egg like stone the size of a tennis ball, it is hollow with this small hole. Any ideas?
This looks to be a hollow flint.
Flints often contain cavities, and in some of the cases when the overall shape is round or oval, it is due to it being centred on a fossil sponge, which 'rots' away.
