This photo is of a set of plastic nesting cups which are used by a teacher as an educational aid for severley autistic childeren, She has taken them out of storage in an understairs cupboard to find they have had small holes bored through them. I know of no insect that would be capable of causing this. Does anyone else have any knowledge of how this could have happened. This was from North West London so not an exotic location.
Well, that's exactly what I said to the teacher who's cups these are. They are made by the manufacturer to break the vacuum and make it easy to pull the nesting cups apart. However, she tells me she has had them for years and up until these holes appeared they were indeed difficult to pull apart. Her concern was that she had woodworm in her understairs cupboard but I found no evidence of this or any other kind on infestation.
