Hey! Me and my younger sister found this spider living behind the bathroom mirror today! He had killed a little friend to eat for later in a cacoon web (it looked like an egg sack but it wasnt an egg sack). We're curious to what it could be?? Sorry the quality isn't good- he wasn't very photogenic after I disturbed him!
Can't quite see enough detail from the photo, there are a few spiders that fit the profile (hunt without webs, make a little sac to sleep in), first guess would be a sac spider like Clubiona corticalis for instance (a central dark "v" marking at the front of the abdomen with pale chevrons towards the rear), maybe a Drassodes species (stone spider - sometimes feint markings on abdomen), possibly even a mouse spider (Scotophaeus blackwalli - no visible markings on abdomen, a uniform "furry" appearance)?
Undoubtedly a few other candidates as well, but those mentioned can be quite hard to distinguish from each other at a glance. Google some images and see what you think?
