While searching for butterflies on Yoesden Bank on the Chilterns yesterday I spotted a pair of beetles on what looks like a kidney vetch plant. I thought they were sexton beetles but I am not so sure. Can anyone help please?
Thats the chafer (scarab) Omaloplia ruricola. It's a chalk grassland specialist, not at all common.
Thank you Clive. I haven't seen these before.
