Beetle on Blueberry

This beetle (and its kin) have been slowly destroying my blueberry plants in my front garden.  They are good at dropping off and disappearing into the litter when disturbed, only to return for more munching quickly.  Any ideas as to what it is (and how to quell its ericaceaous appetite?).  Thank you.
