Please, could anybody help me identify this tooth?

It was found around the River Thames in East London.

  • This is a tooth from a herbivore, measuring the coin it is about 22mm across the crown. The height of the crown is a similar measurement. The size is larger than sheep (and british deer) and horse teeth do not have separate roots. This looks like a cow tooth to me. If you google cow teeth you will find many teeth that do not look like this, the shape of the teeth vary from front to back and if you find a website with a full set you should see one that matches yours.
