PLEASE HELP!! Been Bitten By This Little Guy!

Hi All,

I have severe anxiety disorder which means when something likes this happens I freak out more than the average guy would.

I put on a glove which was in the basement this morning and felt a sting so flicked the glove off and this thing came out.

What is it? Possible side effects?

I should add its very small. Porbably could fit within a 5/10p coin.

Thank you all in advance.

This is a Lace Web spider, Amaurobius sp ., and probably Amaurobius similis.

Several species of lace web spiders are common around the outside of our homes and gardens. They make a characteristic lace-like web on fences, sheds, walls and among general clutter around the garden.

Males are prone to wander indoors when mature and looking for a mate. Bites have been reported when a spider has been trapped against the skin, but with little pain or lasting symptoms.

I wouldn't worry, shock and anxiety is about the worst symptoms you will have and are more debilitating that the spider bite itself.

    I hope this helps.
