What rock/fossil is this?

I found this washed up on the Atlantic ocean. Can anybody tell me what this might be?

    Re: What rock/fossil is this?

Looks to be a sedimentary concretion of some sort, with various modern encrustations.

As with many concretions, it may have a fossil within.

It would be useful to know its density - might give a clue as to rock type (or could suggest it is an indurated nut, perhaps).

Can't say much more without thin-sectioning and examination under microscope.
