I'm just getting in to spider identification and am yet to get a decent field guide. Could someone tell me what this is. Thought it might bra house spider but they all look so different. It's going to take some learning...
It's a Segestria, almost certainly S. senoculata. They normally live in holes and crevices on tree trunks but are occasionally found elsewhere.
I hadn't heard about the 'bra house spider'. I'll have to warn the wife!
Thanks that's great. Didn't expect it to be nearly as interesting as that. Really nice markings although not as good as the 'bra house spiders,' must proof read!
