Hey there everyone, I was walking today and found this lush herbaceous plant growing fully submerged in a clear river flow (as pictured). It looked a lot like parsely and without knowledge of the can of worms I could be opening I plucked a little out of the water and sniffed it, it smelled very strongly of parsley, a peppery scent almost. I havent ingested any of it.
when I got home I begain trying to peice together what it was from the pictures I got and can only find a jumble of information on similar species one of which could see it's way to killing me and everyone I hold dear, others seem mild and frankly lovely, but I am not sure what I have on my hands?!
As I say, none was ingested, just a good whiff taken. but It seems some clarification of species is in order.
The unusual thing seems to be its growing fully submerged in a steady torrent of fresh water. Nowhere is listing this as a potential habitat for any of the family.
