Pleaase can anyone suggest what the name of this mite is? And if so, any help and advice about them would be greatly appreciated?
We have had a serious infestation in our loft over last August to December 2013. By this we mean a golf ball sized piece of insulation probably contained over 100 of these, and so you can imagine what the entire loft looked like.
We own a 1930's semi-detached house in a suburb although fairly close to woods/parks. Our neighbours have said that they do not have a "problem" but we are not so sure. Unfortunately, we never managed to find any particular site of any "nests or eggs". After spending thousands on a new roof, new insulation, new loft hatch and bathroom ceiling, not to mention the family moving out while work was being done, and of course various visits from a local trusted pest control expert we finally believed we had sorted the problem. However within 2 months they have come back, albeit not necessarily in the loft (unconfirmed), but are crawling all over the outside of our house. The only trouble is they are getting in through various cracks and methods and we are beginning to find them on our inside windowsills now. It could be only a matter of time until we have another infestation. We have never seen these on others peoples houses in other areas, and believe us, we do look! Please help us!
