Found bone - need help identifying

I found my dog playing with this in the backyard. I'm mostly just curious what it is.

 

I'm including a couple of pictures, but I don't know much other than that. We live in OKC, OK - very centrally located in the city. I don't know a lot about native animals or anything of the like so I don't have any idea what this might be...

    This looks to be the neural arch of the first thoracic vertebrae of 'cattle', cow or buffalo atec.. Here is a link to a photo where you can see the similarity to photo 1;

    So how can we tell it is the first thoracic? In the neck the cervical vertebrae articulate with each other through facet joints which are far apart, like on photo 1 (upper right of the photo). In the thoracic spine the vertebra articulate through facets which are on the 'spinous process' and they are close together, like on photo 2 and on the link photo. The only vertebra in Cow/Buffalo which has widely spced above and narrowly spaced below is the first thoracic.
