Is this likely to be a fossilised tooth?

I found this item at Charmouth, Dorset today. It was in the 'soft' black clay which has been falling from the cliffs recently, and surrounded by fossilised plant pieces (branches, with concentric inner rings). However, this has a crystalline core without rings. It measures approx. 2cm. Apologies for the poor photos.
