I'm thinking the network is veins unrelated to the original organic object (like the pale veins in coal or near-coal fossils).
So, ignoring that, I see only the overall shape, which could just as well be a piece of fossilized wood as a seed pod.
I don't think it is in the Millstone grit because that tends to be darker, and it is from the carboniferous period- not from the jurassic.
I am almost sure it is a plant stem. I think seed pod could be a possobility, but it looks more like stem to me. There is a rock formation which I think it is but I have forgot the name.
I'll find out.
Thank's Mike and Dan
Looking at it Mike I now think it is wood as well but I recon Dan has got the geological location dead right.
Dan's post has reminded me of a fossiling trip the lads and i went on to Port Mulgrave when we found a massive sandstone boulder that actually disintagrated when three of us tried to unsuccessfully pick it up.
I have a very large piece of it somewere that I will take some images of when i find it, it is covered on both sides with plant fossils.
