I have recently noticed these tiny little bugs in my house, appearing in random locations, and I have no idea what they are. They are around 2mm in length, and I've seen white ones and also brownish ones, although they appear to be the same bug. They move quite fast. They appear randomly in the bathroom, on the tiles, on the shower curtain, sometimes in the living room, crawling across my laptop screen, as well as on the book shelf! I have also seen a few in the kitchen cupboards. We are not 'infested' as such, but I'd like to know what these litte critters are so I can go about getting rid of them!! Can anyone offer any advice?
I've managed to get a photo of a brown one, although it's rather blurry, sorry. I will try to get a better picture if I can. Can ayone help? Thank you in advance!
I think these might be nymphs of psocids (book lice)
There are some good images of nymph and adult here
(ignore the fact that the site concerns Indonesia)
Do a bit of research in that direction and see if it seems to fit
(you will be able to see your creatures better than I can in the photos).
And have a read of this; it will answer your questions.
Many thanks for your reply. After taking a look at those links, I think you're right about the psocids. Pesky things! Have followed the advice and vacuumed out cupboards etc. and trying to keep the house well-aired and damp-free.
