An ID for this Beetle would be much appreciated, found recently on the Gower. Length 12mm approx
it looks like Trypocopris pyranaeus, the Heath Dumble Dor.
Thanks Habdab although I'm not so sure ... elytra was not shiny & didn't have the 'feel' of a Scarab ...
Looks like Sphaeridium sp. (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae) - unlike other Hydrophilids which are mostly water beetles, these guys like to swim around in dog sh*t and other unsavoury decaying substances.
