eek help please

Had an unwanted visitor in my glorified garden shed  (wooden house) today...could someome perhaps help identify it and tell me if it's dangerous as my friends have been putting the fear of God in me about it. Thanks

    Hi Favouritelove,

Firstly & most importantly, there aren't any dangerous spiders native to the UK. A few species can deliver a bite, the worst being akin to a bee sting, maybe accompanied by feeling under the weather for a couple of days.

This is a male lace weaver (Amaurobius species), very common, native spiders often found around the outside of houses, sometimes inside too, as well as external on walls, window frames, garages & sheds etc.
