A few months ago I found a 4cm long piece of f trigonal quartz crystal -nearly translucent on the foreshore of River Thames. Does anyone know may have grown in this area or was washed by the tides from somewhere else.
Today, in the same section of the foreshore of the Thames (Gabriel's Wharf) I found a conulus fossilised sea urchin. It's approx 3cm tall and 2cm diameter base. It's very smooth and with a chipped area that shows a sponge like structure.
Re: the quartz crystal, it looks like it has regular machined marks on the visible side that makes me wonder if it is a pendant from a chandelier or similar. This is just the kind of debris that found its way into the Thanes.
