False widow spider?

Help! Is this a False Widow please?

    Hi Sylv,

     

    Yes, this looks like an immature Steatoda nobilis. Don't panic, they are neither dangerous, nor deadly. They can easily be removed from walls by making a cone out of paper, fold over the point of the cone, so that the spider can't drop through (& up your sleeve) - scoop up the spider & drop it outside.

     

    They are normally quite docile & not aggressive, bites are usually the result of the spider being crushed against the skin.
