I think this must be a light coloured specimen of Nuctenea umbratica the walnut orb weaver. They're usually much darker than this but you do see light ones occasionally, like this one -
When you say you have a fair few, are you sure they're all the same species and, if so, are they all this colour?
It might look lighter than it is due to the flash from the camera. I'm pretty sure they're all the same species, they all seem to have the same markings.
Much like everyone else at the moment I want to make sure they're not false widows!
It's definitely not a false widow. It's sitting in an orb web and false widows don't build orb webs. N. umbratica is a fairly common species although around houses / gardens it tends to be outnumbered by Zygiella (which are somewhat smaller) which is partly why I asked if they're all the same species.
