Cephalopod Jaws

Found this Squid dead on the Holderness coast many years ago so when it was alive it swam in the North sea.

I have put my hammer next to it for comparison, it is about 20in in length to give an indication of the creatures size - note the squid's tentacles have gone, the arms and fin have been reduced in lenght by predation so how big was it when it was alive?

I manage to remove it's jaws - and they looked impressive, it made me think what some Cephalopod jaws have evolved into over millions of years.
