Need help identifying the false widow spider.

I came across this awful looking spider in my garden while pegging out the washing. After taking a photo of it and posting it on facebook it was brought to my attention this could be the false widow spider.

Please don't ask me for a better photo as it is currently unde a glass with a rock ontop of it.

    It's a Tegenaria species (there are a few of them and not easily distinguished from a photo). They're often referred to as house spiders but will live outdoors. Native to this country, common and pretty harmless - apart from scaring the living daylights out of people.
