Near our hydroelectric plant, at Boqueron, Panama, we found this insect. It was very rare for us, so we took several photos of it. Later we found an article written on the natural history museum web page (http://www.nhm.ac.uk/about-us/news/2010/december/stick-insect-makes-bbc-top-10-new-species-of-decade93170.html) that describes a similar insect, but from Bormeo. We are wondering if this is the same speciment, or related to it.

You are right, it's a stick insect. But it can't be the same species as the one discovered in Borneo. It's smaller anyway. There are many species of stick insect and I'm not sure experts can ID this one from photos alone.
