About 4 days ago i was in the french alpes, while climbing i found this moth at about 8,800ft.
can someone identify this moth? i've searched the internet but couldn't find anything about this kind of moth.
It has similarities to a garden tiger, Arctia caja, I think:
N.B. I'm not one of the Museum's ID team, so this is just me speculating.
It is a yellow tiger moth, Arctia flavia.
It occurs above the tree line in the Alps.
Thanks Mike, right genus but wrong species (from me, that is).
Thanks alot Mike!
