I recently found this bone in a local cemetery, not far from a broken crypt. I was wondering if it is possible to tell if the bone is human or not? The first photo is of the bone when I found it, the last two were taken after I set the bone on a cemetery sculpture, which ended up becoming filled with rain water before I went back for additional photos.
Definitely not human, and well chewed by a fox or similar by the looks of it!
For info for others who may be reading this; from time to time, human bones may crop up in and around cemeteries. It's very important that any bones you think might be human are left undisturbed and reported to the warden/church, and certainly not removed from the cemetery (or other location) under any circumstances. By disturbing remains you may be unwittingly committing an offence.
