Beautiful Bee?

I spotted this lovely insect on our blackberry flowers. This is in the garden of our house in Burgundy, France. It was sitting still for long enough to take photos which I attach. I cannot decide which end is front. Are the 'eyes' mimcry, or the actual eyes?  Can anyone tell me what it is? Am so keen to know!

    Hello,

This is not an bee but a Trichuius Fasciatus belonging to the family Scarabidae.

I think the English name is bumblebee beetle.

Their larvae develop in decayed wood and the beetle is common on flowers when they are eating pollen.

    Best regards
