skull or pelvic bone?

Can anyone identify this bone..thought it was a skull but now think it is the pelvic bone of a bird...it was washed up on the south-west coast of Ireland in a clump of sea-weed in August this year.  bone is approx15cm long.

    Hi,

This is indeed a bird pelvis! It's a common mistake to think they're skulls - you can see some more examples of this in this bones forum. I'm afraid I'm not an expert to tell you what bird it's from, but by the size of it, the bird would be about the size of a seagull.
