I found seven caterpillars (believed to be silver line brown eye moth) on my tomato plants and the parasites were found on most of the caterpillars eventually killing them. Can anyone identify the green parasites?
I think they may be some kind of hoverfly larvae. Someone more experienced may be able to tell you which species. I find most of the adults hard enough to ID, no matter the young
But in the course of searching, I did find a book that I've put on my Christmas list, and it may help you too.
That's a very nice photo, by the way
Having the same 'ectoparasites' recently in Brussels I found this possible answer to your question:
Oncophanes species, presumably minuta.
That book is shown as Out of Print Araminta, but it's also available as a free download from the Dipterists forum on this link so no need to wait for Christmas.
It's a large download 160 pages, 40.7 mb.
