I think this is some sort of nymph but I have not been able to identify it. It was photographed on a begonia plant - the flower bud it is sitting on would have been about 8-10mm wide - the nymph/bug was about 4- 5mm I think. Can anyone id it for me please?
Thank you for looking at this for me. I'm fairly new to photographing insects so any pointers are welcome. Is it the quality of the photo that isn't good enough or the angle of the shot? Would photos from other angles have helped? Any advice on what I should be looking to photograph would be appreciated.
I'm sorry I can't id the nymph. One thing that can help with id is a close crop and doing some basic colour enhancement - I may not make for the best or most authentic photo, but it can be helpful in enhancing some key features - thus.... I hope this helps, and I hope you don't mind me playing about with your photo. Birdwocha
No, I don't mind you playing with the photo - any tips on how to get a better photo for identifying things are welcome. Unfortunately many insects are just not interested in being photographed and refuse to pose so as to show off their most distinguishing features!
