I'm really interested in the Antarctic wildlife and I'd love to go on a cruise in the Southern Ocean to see seals and penguins. Which species have you seen so far? Can you see them from your base in Antarctica or do you have to travel to breeding sites? And do you have lots of wildlife photos online that we can see?
If you are interested in visiting Antarctica there are a number of operators who visit the Ross Sea region of Antarctica (Quark Expeditions, Orion Expeditions and Heritage Expeditions to name a few). We have seen Adelie penguins, Leopard and Weddell seals, whales, Snow Petrels (on the way south) - just to name a few.
However, you might be better to head up to the Antarctic Peninsula which has a much more varied wildlife. But if you determined to head for the Ross Sea make sure you team up with an operator who also stops at some of the Sub Antarctic islands on the way - Maquarie Island has some of the most amazing wildlife I have ever seen (search for Maquarie Island on Wiki - its a great start).
