Hi a recent trip to southwold beach fossil hunting with my children come up with these 2 items. Would love to be able to tell my son that i indeed found him a fossil and what it was.
My best guess is a belemnite phragmocone, incidentally attached to a less interesting piece of rock (flint?)
An orthocone nautiloid is a possibility, but less likely IMO.
Ditto banded flint.
It might be possible to make a more reliable determination upon examining the specimen, rather than looking at photos. But sometimes, specimens are fundamentally ambiguous.
Thank you again for your knowledge, I had spent all day searching the web for an image that looked similar and found nothing until now. The similarities are uncanny. My son shall be pleased.
