hi there, i found this mushroom today and have never seen anything like it! my daughter says it looks like an uside down jellyfish!any help identifying this would be great. Thanks in advance
This looks to me like a Hare's-foot inkcap, Coprinopsis lagopus.
They start off looking very different but as they mature the cap turns upwards as in your photo.
Do you have any other photos showing it from other angles?
Yes that photo also looks to be Hare's-foot inkcap, Coprinopsis lagopus. As I'm aware it's fairly widespread and common but quite striking when you see it at this stage of it's life.
