I collected tis rock fro a rock pool i folkstone kent. It as pits of what i assume is pyrite right aroud differet arears of the speciment. Am I rigt to assume it is?

    It is difficult to tell with such small pieces, but I, too, would assume it is pyrite.

    The small size makes it difficult to test, eg., hardness.

    Maybe under a hand lens you can see cubic faces, or other faces of the various habits that pyrite displays (such as pyritohedron).
