I just got a cherry tree this year and noticed yesterday the prettiest bug/fly I have ever seen. I got my husband to take a couple of pictures I am attaching one to this post hoping someone can ID it for me.
He also managed to catch a picture of a different bug (not as pretty as the first one) I will list it as the other bug again another one I have never seen before so please can someone ID it

It is one of the lovely (if you're not a bee) ruby tailed wasps, perhaps Chrysis ignita
There are a few species, and they are difficult to differentiate.
The other one...
I find too small to make-out in the photo, but I'd say it was a fly.
They are both feeding at petiolar glands on those (cherry?) leaves.
