I was walking along the beach north of Hornsea: https://firstname.lastname@example.org,-0.1968273,17z and came across two fossils that I can't identify. Can anybody help?
The fossils were sticking out of the surface of the clay cliffs on the beach.
One of them looks like a tube, the other looks like a piece of wood.
Thanks in advance!
Yes - most probably a piece of fossil wood.
The tube is a crinoid stem; lovely to see such fine detail preserved.
I have a feeling my friend Tabfish might comment, too (this is on his patch)...
Got to agree Mike with the wood I,D and what fantastic images of the Crinoid stem!
Got any more?
