Can anyone shed some light on this little beastie i found on my kitchen Window?
I don't pretend to have any (I can barely tell the difference between bees/wasps) But this little one seemed so out of place for what i usually see.
Wings: Outlined Black/Yellow
Pictures were taken with a phone so not the best quality, hopefully they help!
I've just come back from Spain so i guess this could have been a foreign invader? I was about o capture a video of it but it has since disappeared
the little insect you photographed is not a wasp, but a fly. It belongs to the family Otitidae (now Ulidiidae), sometimes called picture-winged flies. Not sure what genus or species, though.
Hope that helps
Looking at the pattern on the wing (2nd photo) I'd say Palloptera muliebris was a possibility.
