Wood wasp???

Can anyone tell me what this is please? It's body is about an inch long tail/stinger is about 1.5 inch long

    this is an ichneumonid wasp. They use the long 'stinger' (we call it ovipositor) to lay eggs into insect larvae that bore deep inside the wood. The eggs hatch and the wasp larvae than devour their host bit by bit and eventually kill it. They are not dangerous to humans and the 'stinger' cannot sting you.
