Hi, I found this rock today and I would like to know what it is. One section is green, the middle section is white and the last section is grey. The texture is corse ling sand paper. Any ideas what it could be?
In the river when we took the dog for a swim. The river is called teifi. Hope this helps
Hello Meinir, nice find.
I think you have a specimen containing matrix with fossil inclusions (to the right of the piece) then a layer of quarts that has been stained with green algae.
Thank you your help tabfish. That solved one mystery. Until the nest time!
Once again thank you
I think the white part in the middle could be calcite, otherwise I concur with Tabfish.
