Could someone kindly identify this unusual worm found whilst digging a border around my driveway. Have never seen anything like this before and have not come accross any more since. Found 11th June '14, and have it with moist soil in a plastic jar with lid . Will release it after it has been identified.
Thank you for correctly identifying my 'White worm'. It is as you said a 'Therevid Fly Larvae'. Once I had a name I was able to further access information about it. Very interesting reading indeed about the little fellow. Unfortunately, I kept it in soil with a few other types of worms - which we seem to have thousands of - and it was bitten in half. The article I read suggests they are good for your garden soil as they feed on root pests.
