Can anyone help with this south Brazilian roadside plant? It has small 0.5 cm blue (or black) berries which have soft hairs. The leaf veins have an unusual border pattern. I am guessing it is genus Solanum, but I can't get any farther than that.

from the very characteristic leaf venation I am confident this is a species in the Melastomataceae.
By googling the characters I came up with Clidema hirta as a probable ident.
