Seen at Smardale Gill, Cumbria on 6.6.2014
The brown arguses don't have any blue so I would rule them out.
However I am slightly perplexed because on the common blue I would expect to be able to see an additional spot on the front underwing.
The only other one I can think which is vaguely 'right' would be a male silver studded blue (Plebejus argus), but you're way too far north ...
My guess is a female common blue, perhaps a slight aberration, but prepared to be corrected :)

I too was perplexed as I could not see the extra spot on any of my photographs even though I thought it was a female Common Blue.
i was told it was a Northern Brown Argus as they can appear to have a blue sheen in certain light. So I really don't know. My guess is the same as yours but would appreciate clarification.
I agree Common Blue it may be my imagination but its in the right place
