I found this at Saltwick Bay, Whitby, UK.
Looks to me like a vertebrae of some sort. Not sure from what creature though as it is kind of small.

Maybe a fish vertebra.
Looks like ichthyosaur to me.

Could be a Belemnite phragmocone, the outside edge overlaps the next ring?
I think that's a good idea.
It fits in terms of non-concave sides, slightly tapering sides, depression rounded rather than somewhat conical.
I don't recall having seen an individual section like that, until now, that is.
