Is this a fossil in coal?

Hi All,

I've had this for a couple of years now. I've always wondered what it is but doubted it could be a fossil. Can you please help me clarify exactly what it is?

Unfortunately I can't say where its from originally as I found it amongst the coal in the coal shed! I've included a few (what I hope are good!) photos. It seems to be covered in a very thin layer of coal and is very light to hold. Its very smooth and when I tap it, it sounds just the same as bone would.

As you can probably tell I'm not the most descriptive person out there so I hope I've given you enough to go on.

Thanks in advance,
