Have I found a dinosaur egg?

I have had this object in my fossil collection for many years and it is only recently that I chose to get them out and study them. I can say this was found in whitby as I haven't been fossil hunting anywhere else.

    No, but it is a rather nice example of a septarian nodule.

    If you were to cut it open, you'd probably see an impressive pattern of white veins, like the very impressive example shown part-way down the page below.

      Hi Louie.

      Sadly not as Mike has explained, I also found a couple of Septarian Nodules that looked like a Dino egg on the Holderness coast and eventually gave them away to someone because they also thought it was a Dino egg after I explained what it really was.

      Very nice find though.

      I hope it's ok as I have included a couple of images of the two different specimens that I found.
