Prehistoric hand axe

Hi there,

Just thought I'd post this to see if it was of any interest to anybody.

It was found in the 1930's in a gravel pit in Southall, West London by Joseph Routledge, my grandfather.

That is rather nice! I love to see these coming from around the London area, have you got anything more to show?

    Best regards,

    Thomas

Hi, I have contacted the Museum of London about your hand axe as they have a large collection from West of London and they would be keen to see this, find out more about your grandfather and to register it (you get to keep it but it is recorded and perhaps even a drawing made of it). Please contact Kate Sumnall who runs the Portable Antiquities Database, email: ksumnall@museumoflondon.org.uk. When you go along, be sure to look in at the Thames exhibition and you will see where your piece fits in.
