Superficially, it looks like a piece of coal or fossil wood.
It has suffered a lot of breakage and erosion, but I am sure it is part of a shark's tooth. It shows hints of the teeth along the edges, but they are well-worn. That little round hole/depression is probably due to a marine organism (there are lots of things that make holes in shells/rocks/wood).
