I deliberately left my balcony lights on all night ,on a recent trip to Lake Kerkini in Northern Greece, and the result was amazing .Altogether I attracted 32 species of moth ,several beetles ,a couple of crickets and unfortunately 10,000 mosquitoes .Anyway there were a few species I didn't recognize ,can anyone help me with IDs please.Could no 3 be a Scarce Bordered Straw or am I way off.?
Florin - They are not particularly exotic to me!
I get all of these in my garden (in Cyprus)
1. Charissa subtaurica (there are other species in Charissa that are similar, but I'm fairly sure this is your one)
2. Idaea degeneraria
3. Helicoverpa armigera, you are right
Oh yes - October13 - how come I missed that one?!
Although I try to keep up with all new postings in 'Identification', it does seem from time to time that some sneak past me!
