Hi. I have always wondered what is the prehistoric ancestor of the Great white shark. I know know one knows for surtain, but what is your opinion?
Personally, I think the prehistoric ancestor is Isurus Hastalis. I think this because the great white shark teeth and isurus Hastalis teeth are almost identical, apart from Great white teeth have serrations are Isurus Hastalis doesn't. In my opinion, great white teeth and Megalodon teeth look completely different, which I think suggests they are not related.
What do you think?
Here are some pictures of some of the Megalodon teeth which I have in my collection. The huge one is almost 6", and it would have been 6 and a half if it hadn't of had that feeding damage! The one on the bottom right hand corner is a pathologic Megalodon tooth (I have included a close up image of the pathology), and the one at the top is not a Megalodon tooth but the Megalodons ancestor, Angustidens.
Hi. I got my huge megalodon tooth today. Here are some pictures.
Wow! how big is it Dan? looks a stunner.
It is almost 6" , but if it was whole it would have been 6 and 5 8th ".
