Lepidodendron root?

Hi.  I found this in Ossett, West Yorkshire, UK and it is Carboniferous in age.

It looks very much like a lepidodendron root, but the dots are 3d, unlike any other lepidodendron roots I've seen before.

Could anyone give a more possotive ID?

    Hi Dan

They're leaf cushions, so you've got part of the stem not the root.

You can identify the species it came from by the shape and positioning of the cushions using keys in most books on plant fossils from the coal measures.

    Hope this helps.
