I got this recently off the internet. It comes from Somerset, so it is jurassic in age. It is 2.9 cm wide and 2.5cm tall. I think it could be Hildoceras because the lines on the outer whorl look more easy to see than Harpoceras... or is it a completely different species?
My guess is Hildoceras... what do you think?

Thanks for the reply. I bought a Harpoceras which is 11cm long, and it looks like it has been repaired, but it is actually a mineral vein. It used to be a museum display piece, but it was for sale.
I was very surprised in was only eight pounds.
